ChampCycle

ChampCycle Built in 1943 by the Champ Bond of Halnes, Oregon, Created from 1942 Wards Hawthrome bicycle and 1935 Briggs & Stratton engine from a washing machine. This side car motor bike was made so that his grade-school-age children could ride it to a one room school house a few miles away.

Three generations of "cousins" gew up riding this bike during the 50-year period 1943-1993. The bike sat unused in a barn until 2003 when the Champ Bond childrens allowed cousing Roy Pettit to relocate it to Hood River, Oregon, where it was stored for another five years. It was restored April-June by Roy Pettit in time to ride in the 2008 Hood River 4th of July parade. The bike is currently displayed in the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum, where it is used to give rides to kids during WAAAM special events.

Engine: 1935 Briggs & Stratton from washing machine 1/2 H.P @ 1800 R.P.M

Original: Bike frame, side-car frame, bike fenders, handle bars, chain, rear wheel, sprocket bearings, all clutch & drive components ooga born, engine and all its moving parts and components.
Replaced/Added: Tires, front and side-car wheels, side-car fender. reflectors, front fork sruts, seat, hand grips, carrying basket, choke control, drive belt, engine spark plug and wire, air filter, and muffler.
