Not your ordinary Harley. When AMF (American Manufacturing Foundries) owned Harley Davidson, in 1972 they bought an Italian firm called Aermacchi that made small bikes which Harley was already selling (Harley Sprint, for one). The Aermacchi boys knew about racing and produced this bike for racing in both 250cc and 350cc sizes. Don't laugh, you Harley traditionalists, these bikes won four world roadracing championships in 1974, '75 & '76, 3 in 250cc and 1 in 350cc with Walter Villa doing the riding. These are the only world championships in road racing that Harley won in its first 100 years of making
motorcycles. Notice the unique Campanolo brakes, neither drum nor disk, but conical. Only Walter could make them work well.
