Freedom on Two wheels Through the Eyes of Native American Artist Lynn F. Burnette.

Lynn F.Burnette, Sr. is of Sioux ancestry and was born and raised on the Rosebud Reservation near White River, South Dakota. Although he received a formal education in a one-room schoolhouse, it was under the gentle tutelage of his grandfather - whose Lakota name was Eagle Leader - that he learned about his native culture.

Lynn developed an interest in art at the age of five, when he began sketching horses, still lifes and faces. Education, experience in many different mediums and a seasoned ability to depict emotion, eventually brought Lynn's artwork to a level at which others could understand and appreciate the stories he tells through his creative endeavors. Today, working in oils, acrylics, watercolors, clay, castings - and now, motorcycles - Lynn incorporates freedom, spirituality, and love for his people into all of his art.

Lynn's paintings and sculptures have been shown in several cities across the United States. But his most recognized piece of art is the National Native American War Dead Memorial located in Charter Oak, Iowa. The project encompassing more than 300 pieces of art, recognizes and honors those Native Americans who lost their lives serving in the United States Armed Forces.
