The Woodchopper Special

The Woodchopper Special Carl "Bugs" Stevens drove this 1936 Chevrolet Coupe to 26 wins in 1971. Bugs and the Woodchopper were track champions at the Stafford Motor Speedway in 1971 and 1974.

The Coupe was powered by Chevrolet and used a 427 cubic inch big block or a 355 cubic inch small block. The 1957 Chevrolet frame held a Chrysler front suspension with a leaf spring Franklin rear built by Dave Tourigny.

The car is still owned by Koszela Speed of Summit R.I. and is displayed by the Pronyne Motor sports group of Pawtucket, R.I.
