2005 Maybach 57 S

2005 Maybach 57 S The DaimlerChrysler Company first unveiled their Maybach 57 S at the 75th Annual Geneva Motor Show. The company presented the model, which is based on the Mercedes-AMG Series 57 saloon, the car is currently amongst the fastest series-production cars in the World. The car was launched as a direct response to feedback from Mercedes top of the range customers who were look for a top of the range saloon car that could hit high speed without compromising in car comfort and road holding ability.

The Maybach 57 S is very visually similar to the Mercedes-AMG series, available in the classic colors of silver or black, the only major modifications being domestic only. The front section has undergone some modification with radiator grill undergoing enhancement, and the light units having also been significantly revised. At the rear of the car, the rear valance has been entirely reworked as well the two integrated and redesigned tailpipes presentation more than a minor hint of the 57S power potential.
The only other minor cosmetic difference bodywise is a very tasteful and discreet 57S on the car’s front wing. Winding up the show is a very nice set of 20 inch diameter magnesium wheels that continue to emphasize the car’s exclusivity and power. The car also sits slightly lower 0.5 in (13 mm) than the standard 57.

The exclusively laid back tone continues throughout the 57S’ interior, where the traditional piano lacquered wood panels vie for attention with carbon fiber. These driver and front seat passengers have significant access to these modifications, through the instrument panel, as well as the door panels and trims were constructed from carbon fiber and leather as was the car’s center tunnel.

When we get down to discussing the 2005 Maybach 57 S’ engine that is when excitement really begins to mount. The car is powered by no less than a six liter version of the Mercedes-AMG.V12 cylinder engine. Total power output is 604 horses, allowing the car to reach from 0-60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in slightly less than five seconds.

The engine’s torque peaks somewhere between 2,000 and 4,000 revolutions per minute and to keep pace with such a powerful engine, the Maybach 57 S chassis and suspension underwent considerable refurbishment to ensure the continued levels of ride comfort.

A feature of Maybach automobiles since the company was founded more than eighty years ago is the company’s never ending commitment to customize their cars according the their customers specifications, and take their demands to the most ridiculous of proportions. Some of the materials that have found their way into Maybach models include gold and other prescious metal, diamonds and other prescious stones, coats of arms and intricate veneers and finishes.

No doubt some of these materials will find there way into the 2005 Maybach57S, making the car even more Special than it really us.
