2004 Maserati Spyder Vintage

Maserati Spyder Vintage Since 2004, Maserati has offered its already successful Spyder model with an optional “Vintage” personalisation package. It is clear from the outset that the Vintage package is a link with the great Maseratis of previous generations. The package’s exclusive components include chrome-plated air intakes positioned on the front mudguards, which any Maserati enthusiast will instantly recognise from the 1957 3500 GT model. The instrumentation finished in sky blue is also a nod to nostalgia, and was a typical feature of racing Maseratis of the ‘50s.

Designed with the North American consumer in mind, the Vintage package is an addition to the already extensive range of personalisation options offered by the Officine Alfieri Maserati programme, which allows individual owners to customize every new Maserati. This adds exclusivity to an already rare model.

The package offers a number of different levels of personalisation for the Spyder. In terms of the car’s exterior, a chrome-plated front grille is added, along with a highlighted Trident radiator ornament, chrome-plated lateral air intakes and door handles, as well as ball polished rims, improving not only the look of the vehicle but also its performance. The exterior touches are finished with striking silver brake callipers. Chrome-plated side mirrors and roll bars can also be added as extra finishes.

Inside, the Vintage package offers a choice of individual finish options, including aluminium sports pedals with Maserati logos, an “aluminium kit” affecting the central console, Cambiocorsa paddles and door inserts, and Vintage instrument finishes with exclusive graphics and the aforementioned sky blue tone.

As with the standard Spyder model, the Cambiocorsa paddle shifters remain connected to a six-speed Cambiocorsa Formula 1 gearbox, and are available as an upgrade to the standard six-speed manual transmission. Both set-ups control the Spyder’s 4.2-litre, Ferrari-based DOHC V8 engine, capable of producing 390 bhp and pushing out 330 lb/ft of peak torque. It is renowned as an unparalleled drivetrain, propelling the Spyder from 0-60 mph in an astonishing 4.9 seconds, with a top speed in the region of 176 mph.
